On behalf of the Lao People’s Army, and as the Chief of General Staff Department, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Philippine Army to be honored and hosted the 18th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (18th AARM 2008) and the 9th ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (9th ACAMM) in Manila, the beautiful Capital city of the Philippines.

On the auspicious occasion, I also would like to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to the Philippine Army as well as the concerned authorities for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to my delegation and contingent team of the  Lao  People’s Army throughout their time in your country.

I am confident that under the active and able chairmanship of the Commander-in-Chief, the Philippine Army, the 18th AARM 2008 and the 9th ACAMM will carry on to accomplish with good outcome, and to be main aspects on promotion of friendship, solidarity and understanding of one to another  between the ASEAN Army Forces in order to maintain the regional peace, stability, security and effective cooperation.

Finally, I would like to convey my best wishes to leaders of the Philippine Army, organizing committee, and all participants’ good heath and fruitful successes in the mission.
