Philippine Army joins the commemoration of the 73rd Anniversary of the Korean War

The Philippine Army joined the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Philippine Expeditionary Force to Korea (PEFTOK) Veterans Association, Inc. (PVAI) through a wreath-laying ceremony on the 73rd Anniversary of the Korean War at the Korean War Memorial Pylon, Libingan ng mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on June 23, 2023.
 
Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group Commander Brig. Gen. Moises M. Nayve Jr., who represented Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., joined the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Philippines His Excellency Lee Sang-hwa, Korean War Veterans’ families, Korean Embassy officials, Korean community members in the Philippines, and Philippine Veterans Affairs Office representatives in the ceremony. The Army’s Security and Escort Battalion provided the ceremonial elements for the wreath-laying activity.
 
The Army leadership conveyed its profound respect and honor for the sacrifices of the 7,240 Filipino soldiers who fought during the Korean War. Also, the Army committed to preserving the legacy of the Korean War veterans by fostering understanding, promoting diplomacy, and working toward a future where conflicts are resolved peacefully.
