Philippine Army, Australian Army conclude Exercise “Kasangga” Phase 2

The Philippine Army and the Australian Army concluded Phase 2 of the Philippines-Australia Army-to-Army Exercise (PAAAE) “Kasangga” 23-2 at the headquarters of the 2nd Infantry “Junglefighter” Division (2ID) at Camp Capinpin, Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal on June 23, 2023.

Personnel from the 22nd Division Reconnaissance Company of 2ID trained side-by-side with a platoon from the Australian Army from June 5-23, 2023. The exercise enhanced the urban warfare capabilities of the Filipino troops while imparting their knowledge and skills in jungle warfare to their Australian counterparts.

Exercise Kasangga 23-2 is the thirteenth (13th) iteration of PAAAE between the Philippine Army and the Australian Defense Force. It can be recalled that the Philippine and Australian armies completed Kasangga Phase 1 last June 06, 2023, which bolstered the interoperability and camaraderie between the two ground forces.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., expressed his gratitude to the organizer and all the participating troops for their efforts in the conduct of Kasangga 23-2. "I congratulate all of you for accomplishing the objectives of this endeavor - to elevate each other's competencies and strengthen our bonds as friends and protectors of peace," the Army chief ended.
