Army reservists participate in HADR efforts in Northern Luzon

The Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RCPA) participated in the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) efforts in the hardest-hit areas of Northern Luzon due to continuous rainfall and heavy flooding caused by Super Typhoon Egay on July 26-28, 2023.
 
The 1st Regional Community Defense Group (1RCDG) conducted a Search, Rescue, and Retrieval Operation for the three casualties and one missing person in the province of Ilocos Sur. Likewise, the 2nd Regional Community Defense Group (2RCDG) also rendered manpower assistance in transporting and distributing relief goods in the province of Cagayan. The HADR mission is done in cooperation with the Provincial and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Rural Health Unit of every municipality.
 
Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines and Commanding General, Philippine Army Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. commended the Regional Community Defense Groups (RCDGs) on their relentless HADR missions for all families affected by floods and landslides in Ilocos Sur and Cagayan, brought by Super Typhoon Egay.
