Meet the 2nd Signal Battalion's Podiuke' (Magic Podium)

‘Podiuke,’ is a combination of a podium and videoke that simply means a ‘speak and sing’ equipment. It incorporates the capability to provide a convenient portable public address system and a musical entertainment using the wooden podium itself. A podium, according to Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary, “is a stand with a slanted surface that holds a book, notes, etc., for someone who is reading, speaking, or teaching.” Like firearms that are commonly seen inside a military camp, and important fixtures that complete a standard platform, podiums can also be seen in the multi-purpose halls of every Army camp in the country.
Significantly, ‘podiuke’ offers a very convenient way of holding information drives, lectures, and other ceremonies requiring a very loud sound to a large number of audience as it is equipped with 300 Watts speaker (higher than a 150 Watts commercial videoke), amplifier, speakers, twitter, mixer and condenser and uni-directional types of microphone. It is perfect for conducting Troops Information, Education (TI&E), and graduation ceremonies for all types of training in Infantry Divisions, Brigades, Regiments, Battalions, and Companies.
The creation of ‘Podiuke’ aimed to lessen lengthy period of installing public address system to any military event and protects equipment from wear and tear. Meanwhile, its videoke feature provides a surprising effect to soldiers who have passion for singing as it shows a ‘two in one’ sound system. The equipment gives a perfect, crisp and powerful sound that it can even be used outdoor to the delight of music lovers.
