54th Engineer Brigade celebrates its 27th Founding Anniversary

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The 54th Engineer Brigade recently celebrates its 27th Founding Anniversary with the theme, “54 EBde: Katuwang sa Mapayapa at Maunlad na Mindanao”. Said occasion was graced by Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito D. Bautista, Commanding General, Philippine Army on August 13, 2018 at Camp Fernandez Jr., Cabatangan, Zamboanga City.

The unit, under the leadership of Brig. Gen. F. Arnold Fernandez, was instrumental in the completion of numerous road and infrastructure projects in the area where they are providing general support, and in the construction of temporary shelters for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). With ingenuity, they also provided technical support in the fabrication of add-on protection to Army armored vehicles to increase survivability which contributed a lot in the timely liberation of Marawi.

For almost three decades of existence, the unit earned unwavering respect and established a credible image as one of the prime mover of the Philippine Army in support of the government’s development thrust.

Lt. Gen. Bautista, as the guest of honor and speaker recognized the gallant troops for their unwavering support and dedication, especially with President Rodrigo Duterte’s desire to create development impact and uplift the socio-economic well being of the Filipino people.
