Army Ordnance Officer bags award from Metrobank

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila- Lieutenant Colonel Francis A Señoron, an Army Ordnance Officer, recently was chosen and awarded by Metrobank as one of the 10 Outstanding Filipinos in 2018 in a ceremony held on Friday, September 7, at Metrobank Plaza Auditorium, Makati City.

The recognition rite was graced by Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker in line with the Metrobank’s 56th Anniversary celebration with the theme “Beyond Excellence”. The recipients of the prestigious award were four teachers, three police officers and two other soldiers wherein each one of them were conferred with a gold medallion, trophy and cash prize.

Lt. Col. Señoron’s, two decades of exemplary performance focusing on the development of a revolutionary counter-explosives brought not only safety to the troops but as well as efficient way of bomb disposal. His invention of Electric Blasting Galvanometer and disruptor lessen the procurement cost of the government rather than acquiring abroad.

In his remarks, he said that, “there are ingenious Filipinos that can be tapped by the Armed Forces of the Philippines to develop the force protection, weapons system and help-improve our military capabilities with self-reliance”.

On the other hand, Major General Danilo Chad Isleta, Acting Commanding General Philippine Army extended his heartfelt gratitude to Chairperson Arthur Ty of Metrobank Foundation Incorporated (MBFI) for recognizing the valuable contribution of the Philippine Army in nation building.

“Your Philippine Army troopers are true living heroes you can always depend on. We promise that we will continue to be your partner in the attainment of peace and progress for our country”, he added.#
