Army holds bilateral meeting with counterparts during ADAS 2018

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army headed by the Commanding Genera, Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Bautista hosted the Chief of Army bilateral talks during the Asian Defense Security and Crisis Management Exhibition and Conference (ADAS 2018) held on 26 to 28 September 2018 at World Trade Center, Metro Manila.

The ADAS 2018 was organized by APAC Expo Pte. Ltd, in coordination with Department of National Defense. It is already on its 3rd edition of gatherings of exhibitors from more than 150 various defense industries from 30 countries who displayed confidence in the Philippines as an important market in Asia Pacific Region.

The Philippine Army pro-actively participated during the event as it offers an enormous opportunity to be adept in the new trends techniques and state-of-the-art technologies for Global Defense Security and Disaster Relief which are essential on its modernization program.

Moreover, the Philippine Army found the event as an excellent venue to pave-way for exchange of ideas of mutual interest in the fields of defense security and crisis management. It also provided exposure in the newest military technologies that widen our security landscape and standpoint, to fasten the realization of current Army thrust on Capability Upgrade Program in consonance to Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).

One of the highlights of the event was the bilateral talks administered by the Philippine Army with its Asian counterparts that include Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos. These high-level military meetings aims to establish and ensure coherence in enhancing mutual military training and exercises, personnel exchange for skills development, security cooperation and stability in our campaign against terrorism as well as transnational crime in the Asian region.

Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Bautista also served as one of the resource speakers during the symposium on Urban Warfare Track which was attended by the different Chiefs of Army, government representatives, exhibitors from defense industries and people from other security and local law enforcement agencies. Lieutenant General Bautista presented and shared the counter-terrorism approach that the AFP, particularly the ground component have undertaken during the Marawi siege.

The CGPA expressed his gratitude to the Chiefs of Army for their continuing support and cooperation in dispelling hostility for peace and stability in the region. #
