OSAGS has new chief

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila- The Philippine Army Office of the Secretary Army General Staff (OSAGS) has a new chief in the person of Lieutenant Colonel Patrick B. De Villa who succeeded Colonel Christopher C. Tampus in a simple turn-over rite held at the HPA Conference Room, on October 24, 2018.

Major General Danilo Chad D. Isleta, Chief of Staff, Philippine Army presided the ceremony before the crowd comprised of general, personal, special and technical staff, as well as personnel from various HPA offices.

Lt. Col. De Villa in his remarks said, “I am overwhelmed for the trust and confidence given by the Command. I know I’ll be facing a great challenge with this new job as I fill the giant shoes left by my predecessor. Nevertheless, through teamwork and cooperation, which I expect from the OSAGS family, we can accomplish numerous task with flying colors.”

Lt. Col. De Villa is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Bantay Laya” Class of 1994. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management. He spent the early years of his career in Visayas and Mindanao with the Special Forces and he is also a recipient of various awards which include a Distinguished Service Star, Military Merit Medals, and Military Commendation Medals.

On the other hand, Maj. Gen. Isleta in his message expressed his gratitude to Col. Tampus. He said that through the diligence and professionalism of Col. Tampus, numerous Command activities were accomplished with resounding success. He also acknowledged the new OSAGS Chief whom he described as a “silent worker but high achiever”.

Change of leadership is a constant thing and traditional to the Philippine Army whose goal is to sustain organizational excellence and good governance in order to provide better service to the country and the Filipino people.#
