Scout Rangers recognized for bringing honor to the Army

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila– A recognition ceremony was held for eight personnel of the First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSSR) here today, November 5, 2018, during the flag raising ceremony for their excellent performanceduring the Exercise Cambrian Patrol (EX CP) 2018.

The EX CP 2018 washosted by the British Army in Wales, United Kingdom from October 8 to 20. The eight man patrol team from the FSRR received a certificate of completion for finishing the event with139 participating teams from 28 different countries.

Prior to their selection, the Rangers have to first beat other local Special Operations Forces teams from the Special Forces Regiment and the Light Reaction Regiment in a selection process patterned after the EX CP.

The EX CP is an annual event that begun in 1959. It is a long range patrol exercise open to international participants and is considered as one of the most arduous military events designed to test leadership, field craft, discipline, and both mental and physical strength.
