FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto pays an official visit to the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation on July 8 at Moscow, Russia.
Upon the invitation of Russian Ground Forces Army Gen. Oleg Salyukov, a meeting was conducted to discuss issues of bilateral military cooperation, training of Filipino servicemen in Russian military schools and participation of Philippine teams in the International Army Games.
During the visit at the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the PA delegation was also acquainted with the academy’s organization, types, and peculiarities in training the officers.
Also included in Alberto’s tour was his visit at the Tank Guards Command of the Western Military District and the Research Institute of Precision Machinery.
"We recognize the evolving security threats that our country faces and international cooperation is necessary to effectively address them. Our Russian counterparts' experience in combat against various threats and the subsequent training will enhance our own capabilities that will help us in accomplishing our mission", said Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala, the Army spokesperson.#
