FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army held an Information Caravan in the form of a Capability Demonstration and Variety Show at Bonifacio Global City yesterday, August 25.
In connection with the National Heroes’ Day, the activity aims to raise awareness about the Army's capabilities and to further gain popular support with regards to Peace and Security Operations.
The demonstration featured the Band and Rifle Drill, K9 and Explosives and Ordnance Disposal Team, and Combative and Martial Arts. There is also a recruitment booth for regular and reserve forces, information dissemination on Reserve Officers Training Corps, Army Reservist booth, static display of Special Operating Forces, showcasing of the Army's new equipment and a demo on combat fitness test.
On the other hand, the variety show comprised performances from the different Army musical bands and artists such as Ronnie Liang, Julian Trono, Katrina Velarde, The Juans, Shanne Dandan, Jean Kiley, Jem Cubil, Jinky Vidal, Janine Teñoso, Jeric Medina and 2nd Lt. Matteo Guidicelli.
“Commemorating our heroes goes beyond remembering what they did. It also means fighting for what they fought for. We hope that through this event, the Philippine Army is able to bring awareness to the public and encourage them to take part in the Army’s endeavors for the country,” said Army spokesperson Lt. Col.
