FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army (PA) welcomed the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Vice Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Gaudencio Collado Jr., on his official visit here on Monday, November 11.

Said visit aims to provide Collado, the Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto, other AFP leaders, and Army senior officers an avenue to coordinate and discuss the command’s current and future modernization efforts.

During the briefing, the Army modernization achievements and endeavors in terms of its newly activated units, equipment, and facilities were presented. The PA also mentioned its constant efforts in the additional recruitment of troops on top of its yearly quota and its present status in the Army Transformation Roadmap.

“Each major unit has its own distinct and equally significant role in achieving the over-all mission of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” said Collado after the AFP provided its modernization program updates on personnel, organization, and equipment that intends to strengthen the force.

“I believe that the Philippine Army is at the forefront for our battle for peace and security. That is why, it is imperative that we have our inter-operability skills and strengthen the oneness and unity among our units. We must be coordinated, decisive and united in all our actions for we are all fighting the same battle,” said Collado.#
