Metrobank Foundation opens search for Outstanding Filipinos 2020

FORT ANDRES BONIFACIO, Taguig City – In line with its search for the Outstanding Filipinos for the year 2020, representatives of the Metrobank Foundation paid a courtesy call to the Philippine Army Post Commander here today, November 28, 2019.
Program Officers of the Metrobank Foundation’s Excellence Awards Units, Kristal Todcor and Ernest R. Macapagal, and Jonny Sy of the Rotary Club of Makati Club Metro met with the Philippine Army Post Commander Brig. Gen. Bienvenido Y. Regondola Jr. to discuss the search for the outstanding Filipinos.
Every year, the Metrobank Foundation selects ten outstanding Filipinos in the field of education, military and police service to be given recognition for demonstrating service above and beyond the call of their duty. Each awardee will also receive Php 1,000,000 worth of cash prize.
This year, Master Sergeant Ramil Caporas of the Philippine Army, received the said award. Caporas is a Team Supervisor or EOD Technician of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion, Army Support Command. He was deployed in Marawi for the whole duration of the combat and led a team of explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) experts tasked to recover and dispose Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and Unexploded Ordnances (UXOs) during the five-month battle. Their expertise resulted in the recovery and proper disposal of over 1,000 IEDs, ensuring the safety of the troops inside the war zone.
