Gen. Macairog S. Alberto, PA Commanding General, met with the chiefs of armies from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The chiefs of armies discussed the importance of substantive cooperation and the sharing of information in order to address the threats of terrorism and radicalism as well as transnational crimes in the region. “We must be open in sharing lessons learned and best practices from our armies because it is through the exchange of intelligence and information that we can effectively manage, and even combat regional threats,” said Alberto in his presentation during the meeting. Alberto further emphasized the importance of interoperability among the armies in addressing shared regional concerns such as terrorism and natural disasters. The ACAMM is an annual engagement which aims to enhance solidarity, friendship, and goodwill among the ASEAN armies. “Real problems require real solutions; and real solutions need real dialogue.
