CGPA hosts newly-promoted Army Generals

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay receives the thirty-nine newly-promoted Army Generals here today, December 11.

“Your promotion is testament to the hard work, self sacrifice, and dedication to duty that has brought you this far,” addressed Gapay to the generals who also took oath on Monday before President Rodrigo Duterte. “Given the stars that you bear on your shoulders, we expect that there will be more responsibilities and more feats that you will be able to accomplish,” he added.

Star-ranked officers occupy the highest command positions among Company and Field Grade Officers. Their rank’s star symbol is used in the Armed Forces of the Philippines Coat of Arms and was taken from the national flag representing the three major islands of the Philippines.
