Ambassador of France to PH pays courtesy call to CGPA

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay welcomed the visit of the Ambassador of France to the Philippines Nicolas Galey on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020 at Army Headquarters.

Galey met with Gapay in a courtesy call to strengthen the two parties’ mutual cooperation through plans of future engagements, training, and equipment procurement to boost Army’s overall defense capabilities.

During the discussion, Gapay highlighted the command’s thrust of advancing the Army modernization program by developing Army’s aviation, missile systems, cyber defense, intelligence, and maneuver capabilities to further sustain Army’s gains in terms of national security.

The CGPA who extended his gratitude to the Ambassador said, “We really look forward to stronger and closer defense cooperation [between the Philippines and France]”.#
