CGPA checks well-being of stranded passengers

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - To ensure the comfort and safety of the stranded passengers during their stay at the Philippine Army Wellness Center (PAWC), the Commanding General Philippine Army checks on their well-being and inspects the facilities today, June 15, 2020.

Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay personally attended to the 214 locally-stranded individuals currently sheltered by the Army while waiting for available flights.

As of June 15, 22 passengers were transported to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for their confirmed flights back to their respective provinces. The flight for 129 of the remaining passengers to Davao, General Santos, Cotabato, Cagayan de Oro, and Bacolod is currently being processed by Cebu Pacific Air.

“While we continue to provide shelter and basic necessities for them here at the Army Gymnasium, those who would want to extend further aid are highly encouraged. We will also help in terms of coordinating with their respective airlines. Our main priority is to keep them COVID-19 free so they can return to their families healthy,” said Gapay.#
