Army installs new Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Education

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Office of the Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Education (G8) welcomes its new chief here today, August 12, 2020.

In a Change of Command Ceremony presided by Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Rowen S. Tolentino, outgoing Acting Chief Col. Nelson C. Aluad relinquished his position to Col. Edgar R. Delos Reyes.

Delos Reyes served as the Director of Training Development Center of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) prior to his new position. He also served as Task Force Kutawato Commander and as Acting Chief of Staff of 6th Infantry Division. He is a member of Philippine Military Academy “Maalab” Class 1993 and holds a Doctorate in Development Administration, Master’s in Management Major in Public Administration, and Master’s in Management Major in Development Security.

Meanwhile, Aluad also served as Deputy G8, as Commanding Officer of the 2nd Field Artillery Battalion, and as Commandant of Artillery Training School. He is a member of PMA “Bantay Laya” Class of 1994 and holds a Master’s degree in Development Management and a Master’s degree in Public Management Major in Development Security.

“To the men and women of OG8, the Army depends on you to prepare our troops to succeed by developing their skills and increasing their knowledge to accomplish their mission. Train our soldiers to reach specific measurable levels of performance to eventually tackle progressively larger tasks,” said Tolentino in his remarks. #
