FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army’s 53rd Engineer “Visayas Builders” Brigade (53EBde) celebrates its 35th Founding Anniversary today, August 26, 2020 at Camp Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City.

The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana, serving as the guest of honor and speaker, congratulated the Visayas Builders for a year of accomplishment in providing engineer support and contributing to the government’s socio-economic development programs over the Visayas region.

The 53EBde completed several base development initiatives, including the enhancement of the Central Command emergency quarantine facility, and other projects in partnership with local government units and stakeholders. They also assisted the COVID-19 efforts in the distribution of relief goods, personal protective equipment, social amelioration for the affected families, fabrication of handwashing stations, and construction of quarantine facilities.

“Sa ating Visayas Builders, kayo ay sandigan ng ating mga kababayan upang maipanalo ang kapayapaan… Sa pagsimula ninyo ng bagong taon, and buong Philippine Army ay naka suporta sa inyong mga inisyatibo. Mas pagbutihin pa natin ang kakayahan para sa katiwasayan ng rehiyon,” said Sobejana.

“We shall continue to be the hope of our people. We shall capacitate our forces to find, fix, and finish the enemy; exploit gains; and sustain good governance. We will exemplify honor, patriotism, and duty,” he added.#
