FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army (PA) and the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Manila signed a partnership to further promote peace and development initiatives here today, July 22, 2021.
Army Commanding General Maj. Gen. Andres Centino and JCI President Richard Antonio Tamayo led the Memorandum of Partnership Signing that aims to support and develop Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) and Conflict-Affected Areas.
“We were not afraid to push forward knowing that the way the AFP, the Philippine Army’s work is proper. We thank you for that,” said Tamayo recalling JCI Manila’s collaboration with the Army during their first Talaingod Project in School for Peace in Sitio Lumabang Barangay Palma Gil, Davao del Norte where troops conducted mine sweeping in the area to ensure the safety of said stakeholders. “I’m looking forward to the partnership because we know we can definitely and safely do our community affairs,” he added.
The partnership has also long been supporting the PA particularly with providing livelihood projects, donation of equipment to schools and support to calamity response among the areas of responsibility covered by 5th, 7th, and 4th Infantry Division.
“The Army, AFP, and government cannot address the problems of our country alone. We need the cooperation of all the members of our society. To the JCI Manila, rest assured that you can also count on the Army to support your noble endeavors. The nation needs unity among its people. Together, we can triumph over challenges and truly win the peace,” said Maj. Gen. Centino.#
