CGPA sends off new Army Second Lieutenants
FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Commanding General Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Andres C. Centino led the Send-Off Ceremony of new Army Second Lieutenants here today, August 12, 2021.
158 new second lieutenants from Officer Candidate Course Classes 54-2020 and 53-2020, Philippine Military Academy Class 2020, and foreign service academies will be sent off to lead the troops in the frontlines as platoon leaders.
The CGPA also led the ceremonial turn-over of firearms to the deployed new lieutenants following the Send-Off Ceremony.
“Today’s send-off ceremony, indeed, is a special and promising occasion: the Philippine Army gains potential game-changers that could finally bring the Filipino people the lasting peace we all have long fought and aspired for,” said Maj. Gen. Centino in his remarks.
“I count on you, no less than the newest cutting-edges of the Army to always maintain your firm resolve, passion, and dedication to serve as you fulfill the Army’s core mandate of ‘Serving the people and Securing the land,’” Maj. Gen. Centino concluded. #
