AFP Chief of Staff visits Army Headquarters
FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army welcomed the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP) Lt. Gen. Jose C. Faustino Jr. here yesterday, August 13, 2021.
The Commanding General Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Andres C. Centino briefed the CSAFP on the command’s current and future operational plans and COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
In a virtual Talk to Troops, the CSAFP expressed his support and commended the troops’ continuous efforts in restoring the peace and keeping the communities safe from internal and external threats even in the midst of the pandemic.
During his visit, the Philippine Army awarded Lt. Gen. Faustino the Combat Kagitingan Badge level of major service commander for his leadership as Commanding General, Philippine Army. The CSAFP also received the Sable de Mando of General Emilio Aguinaldo Sword which serves as a symbol of the Philippine Revolutionary Army’s command, combat prowess, and victory in 1989.
“Bilang pangunahing depensa ng ating pamahalaan laban sa iba’t-ibang komunistang grupo dito sa ating bansa, karapat-dapat lamang na masigurado nating napupunan ang pangangailangan ng mga tropang sumasabak sa pakikipaglaban sa mga bandido at rebeldeng grupo na nais sirain ang katahimikan ng ating bayan,” Lt. Gen. Faustino said in his remarks.
“I urge every officer, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource of the Philippine Army to draw inspiration from our successes, and capitalize on these as we achieve more in the days ahead. Our continued triumphs rest on our collective firm resolve and cooperation to exceed what we have already accomplished in the past,” he concluded. #
