FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The 53rd Engineer “Visayas Builders” Brigade, Philippine Army celebrated its 36th Founding Anniversary on August 26, 2021 at Camp Lapulapu, Cebu City.
The Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) Maj. Gen. Andres C. Centino was welcomed by 53EBde Commander Brig. Gen. Gerardo P. Catindoy as he graced the event and commended the unit for its exemplary service evident in the successful completion of 129 Base and Combat Support projects, and 128 Civic Action projects in support of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict Project Partnership Agreement.
The CGPA also recognized the unit’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response efforts, efficient and effective efforts to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 within their area of responsibility, and high regard for their troops’ well-being. During the anniversary ceremony, the 53rd Engineer Brigade also celebrated its recertification in the Army Governance Pathway Institutionalized Status with a Gold Trailblazer Award.
“To the Visayas Builders, continue to build stronger infrastructures to facilitate better working and living conditions for our troops, and encourage the people of these islands to participate in your endeavor to build a stable and prosperous nation. As soldiers of the Filipino nation, let us all devote ourselves to the mission at hand — to win our nation’s aspiration for lasting peace and sustainable development,” said Maj. Gen. Centino in his remarks. #
