CGPA reiterates guidance to Army’s Battalion Commanders

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) delivered his guidance to Philippine Army Battalion Commanders during an online symposium here on September 2 to 3, 2021.
Said event aims to stress the urgency in defeating the remnants of all threat groups, give support to battalions in accomplishing their campaign tasks, and provide guidance in finishing the insurgency and terrorism in the country.
“We are given a definite task by our commander-in-chief to end the local armed conflicts within his term. While we have considerably gained much in our campaign to address the threat groups, the fight is far from being over,” said Maj. Gen. Andres Centino.
The CGPA directed all 162 Battalion Commanders in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to focus on the primary task at hand and optimize the use of available resources to comply with their task. He also reminded them that they are expected to perform the mandate while maintaining the utmost discipline and professionalism recognizing that these units are the Army’s cutting edge against all threat groups.
“As your Commanding General, it is my role to ensure that Army units are operationally ready, and the commanders and personnel are all capable and have the means and resources to perform their respective tasks,” said the CGPA.
“The enemy is on the brink of irreversible defeat, let us not forego this opportunity. This is our responsibility and no one is in a better position to do this but us. We must focus therefore on our main task and double tie on our efforts,” he noted.#
