CGPA commends 79IB troopers for successful operation in Negros Occidental

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Andres C Centino, recognizes the effort of the 79th Infantry "Masaligan" Battalion under the 3rd Infantry Division, Philippine Army on their successful operation against CPP-NPA-Terrorists (CNTs) in Bgy. San Pablo, Manapla, Negros Occidental on September 30, 2021.
While conducting security operations, 79IB troops encountered around ten enemy personalities believed to be the remnants of the dismantled Bali Northern Negros Front. The 30-minute firefight resulted in neutralizing four enemy personalities; seizure of one .45 caliber, one .38 caliber, two hand grenades, and subversive documents.
"To the 79IB troopers, Headquarters Philippine Army acknowledge your untiring effort to defeat the CNTs in your Area of Operation (AO). Your recent success against the state enemies in Negros Occidental contributes to ending the local communist armed conflict in that part of the country. Continue protecting the people in your area of operation; you have the support of the Philippine Army," said Lt. Gen. Centino.
