During the hearing, Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino, the Commanding General Philippine Army, answered questions from the Senators, particularly on the status of the Army Aviation Regiment, which is still a provisional unit of the Army.
Lt. Gen. Centino explained that the activation of the Army Aviation Regiment (Provisional) is part of the Army’s thrust for capability and base development to prepare for future missions and territorial defense.
“The Philippine Army is still beefing up the readiness of the Army Aviation Regiment in terms of personnel and equipment before it will become a regular unit. Rest assured that the budget for the capability development and modernization of the Philippine Army will be judiciously spent based on the current priority of the organization to serve our people better,” Lt. Gen. Centino said. #
