FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army welcomed Maj. Gen. Henry M. Doyaoen as its 33rd Vice Commander in a ceremony today, November 29, 2021, at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Outgoing Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Robert C. Dauz relinquished his post to Maj. Gen. Doyaoen in a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony presided by the Commanding General Philippine Army and concurrent Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino.
Maj. Gen. Doyaoen is a well-rounded General of the AFP. He is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy “Maringal,” Class of 1988. Before his new assignment, he served as the AFP Internal Auditor. He also held various leadership roles in the Philippine Army units and Unified Command, such as Deputy Commander of Northern Luzon Command, Commander of the 503rd Infantry Brigade, and Chief of the Morale and Welfare Division of the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, AFP.
On the other hand, Maj. Gen. Dauz has meticulously reviewed Army policies, initiated innovations, and implemented organizational reforms to improve the Philippine Army and its personnel during his stint. He also pursued the Philippine Army Competency Development Program to advance the leadership and core competencies of the uniformed personnel, enhance the skills of the Civilian Human Resource, and systematize the operational, logistical, and administrative requirements of the entire Army.
Maj. Gen. Dauz will continue his service as the Commander of the Visayas Command.
Lt. Gen. Andres C. Centino congratulated the two generals on their new designations while urging the Army personnel to support the new Army Vice Commander.
“To Maj. Gen. Dauz, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your remarkable service as the Vice Commander. I have witnessed first-hand your dedication and devotion to duty which boosted the morale of our troops as they serve our country and people,” said Lt. Gen. Centino in his message.
“To Maj. Gen. Doyaoen, rest assured that you have the full support of the men and women of the Philippine Army as well as the whole Armed Forces of the Philippines,” he added. #
