Indonesia’s defense attachés render courtesy call on VCPA

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Indonesia’s outgoing and incoming defense attachés, as well as the country’s outgoing and incoming Army attachés, rendered a joint courtesy call on the Vice Commander of the Philippine Army (VCPA) yesterday, December 3, at the Army’s main headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Indonesia’s Outgoing Defense Attaché Col. Muhammad Reza Suud and Army Attaché Sigit Himawan Sutanto and Incoming Defense Attaché Col. Bambang Wijonarko and Army Attaché Col. Wahyu Akhadi were received by VCPA Maj. Gen. Henry Doyaoen.

Maj. Gen. Doyaoen highlighted the importance of Indonesia as a strong partner in security cooperation in the region, as well as the need to further strengthen the bilateral engagements of both Armies.

Col. Suud thanked the VCPA for the support extended to him by the Philippine Army during his stint as the DA, while Col. Wijonarko reaffirmed the strong commitment of the Indonesian Army in fostering closer military ties with the Philippine Army.

It can be recalled that the Philippine Army and the Indonesian Army held a joint virtual two-week training activity last month that was geared at boosting the capability and interoperability of both Armies in urban and jungle warfare special operations. #
