VCPA talks to newly commissioned Army officers

The Vice Commander, Philippine Army (VCPA) Maj. Gen. Henry Doyaoen shared professional and personal development advice to 64 new 2nd Lieutenants in the “Vice Commander’s Time” today, December 14, 2021, at the Philippine Army Officers’ Club’s Ricarte Hall.
Maj. Gen. Doyaoen called the newly commissioned officers “the cutting edge of the Philippine Army,” urging them to always uphold human rights. “As human rights defenders, always respect communities and the people you serve to prevent the creation of fertile grounds for CNT recruitment,” said the VCPA. He also advised them to stay informed and study laws that might have implications on the conduct of their missions.
The VCPA, in his message, has also reiterated to the newly minted officers the Commander-in-Chief’s directive to eradicate insurgency by June 2022.
“Remember that you are still at the beginning of your military journey. I urge you to always remain humble – keep your boots on the ground and do not stop learning. Your journey in the Army is a continuous process,” Maj. Gen. Doyaoen remarked.
The ceremonial turnover of a Glock pistol to Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) “ADHIKALINAW” 72-2020 President 2nd Lt. Arnel Villa capped the program.
The Commanding General of the Philippine Army (CGPA) Maj. Gen. Romeo Brawner, Jr., will lead the send-off rites for the new officers on December 17, 2021.
