Army intensifies HADR missions for Typhoon “Odette” victims in Negros

The 303rd Infantry Brigade deployed troops to assist in humanitarian assistance and disaster response relief efforts in communities devastated by Typhoon “Odette” in Negros Island.
The 79th Infantry Battalion, which has jurisdiction over Northern Negros, mobilized its Disaster Response and Relief Operation (DRRO) teams to help stranded passengers; rescue and relief efforts; and in clearing operations in typhoon-hit areas. It also deployed troops to help typhoon-stricken families in South and Central Negros specifically in Kabankalan City.
The 62nd Infantry Battalion provided manpower and transportation for evacuation and clearing operations in the Central Negros together with the different City and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices.
Meanwhile, the 94th Infantry Battalion in close coordination with local government units helped evacuate residents living in disaster-prone areas.
Additionally, reservists from the Army Reserve Command’s 6th Regional Community Defense Groups (RCDGs) and 1st Negros Occidental Ready Reserve Battalion (RRBn) are also conducting disaster relief efforts in various areas devastated by “Odette" in Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental.
