CGPA vowed to strengthen Army training institutions

The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Maj. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. vowed to strengthen the training and education institutions of the Philippine Army during his visit to the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) headquarters in Camp O'Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on December 22.
The CGPA, during the meeting with TRADOC leadership led by Maj. Gen. Peter Angelo Ramos reiterated his guidance encapsulated under the acronym SERVE (Soldier, Enhance, Resources, Victory, Election).
Maj. Gen. Brawner underscored the need to ensure "Soldiers'" physical and mental health, the Army's most important resource. He vowed that the Philippine Army, through the TRADOC, shall "Enhance" the competencies and skills of troops to fulfill their tasks better.
"We will push down much-needed resources to our units to capacitate them to accomplish their missions. Be assured that the Army will provide the necessary support to TRADOC to further improve training programs for our soldiers. With well-equipped and competent soldiers, the Philippine Army will surely emerge "Victorious" against threat groups allowing us to focus on ensuring orderly and peaceful "Elections" next year," the CGPA stressed.
The CGPA also underscored the importance of ensuring soldiers' physical fitness and readiness. He is eyeing the re-implementation of physical fitness tests (PFTs) to ensure soldiers' readiness for combat or non-combat missions by the middle of next year.
"As a source of Army standards, we need to strengthen TRADOC to raise the bar of excellence in all our training courses to ensure we only have the best-trained personnel who are capable of accomplishing a multitude of tasks or missions," Maj. Gen. Brawner concluded.
The Training and Doctrine Command mission is to "Train and educate Army forces and integrate doctrine with Army capabilities to strengthen land warfare competencies."
