Army distributes relief supplies from private donors to typhoon-hit areas in Central Visayas

The Philippine Army’s 82nd Infantry Battalion, 14th Civil Military Operation Battalion and the 9th Marine Battalion Landing Team received and hauled on December 31, 2021, the 14 truckloads of relief goods sent from the Philippine Army’s main headquarters in Fort Bonifacio to Cebu.
The shipment, transported by the Philippine Navy’s BRP Tarlac, consistsof bottled water, food items, canned goods, foams, mattresses, portable water purifier packs, generator sets and other essential supplies. Landers Superstore and other private individuals donated the essential items and will be repacked and distributed to typhoon-affected areas in Central Visayas on January 1 and 2, 2022.
The Philippine also sent 21 truckloads of essential supplies from Fort Bonifacio to Southern Leyte and Surigao del Norte on Rizal Day, December 30, 2021.
"This is the genuine acts of what we call bayanihan.We are truly grateful to all the donations made by Landers Superstore and other companies and private individuals to areas that were devastated by the recent calamity,” 3rd Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. Benedict Arevalo said in a statement.
Army units—together with national government agencies, local government units and private sector partners—are working ‘round the clock to provide relief and rehabilitation assistance to typhoon-stricken families.
