The Philippine Army’s 10th Infantry Division received new mobility assets that will further bolster its operational capabilities.
10th Infantry Division Chaplain Lt. Col. Melchor Torayno and 10ID Commander Maj. Gen. Ernesto Torres, Jr. led on Friday, January 7, the blessing ceremony for the 21 KM250 trucks, 14 Toyota SUVs, and 33 Kawasaki and Bajaj motorcycles at the Camp General Manuel Yan, Sr. Grandstand.
The new mobility assets, which are procured through the Philippine Army Modernization Program, will be distributed to the division’s line units.
Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner, Jr. has earlier vowed to ensure troops’ physical and mental health; enhance the skills and capabilities of individual soldiers and units; and push down much-needed resources to all Army units nationwide.
The CGPA said that the three thrusts will allow the 100,000-strong Philippine Army to comply with the president’s directive to end the local communist armed conflict before the June 2022 deadline and focus on helping the Commission on Elections ensure peaceful and orderly national polls.
