Commanding General of the Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner, Jr. led Friday, January 7, the inauguration of a new isolation facility for the Army’s 6th Infantry Division as he directed troops to strictly comply with health protocols amid the Covid surge.
Lt. Gen. Brawner, together with BARMM Interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim, Al Haj, and 6th Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, led the inauguration of the 60-bedroom, two-storey isolation facility at Camp Brig. Gen. Gonzalo Siongco in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
The CGPA, in his “Talk to Troops” before the inauguration ceremony, vowed to modernize medical treatment facilities of Army units to provide world-class healthcare services to troops and their dependents.
Meanwhile, the CGPA led today, January 8, the inauguration rites for 6ID’s new golf course at Camp Paulino Santos in Barangay Dado, Alamada, Cotabato.
“The inauguration of a golf course is very rare. I am very happy to note that through the imagination and initiative of our 6th Infantry Division commander, we were able to achieve what we see today with minimal cost and resources to the government,” Lt. Gen. Brawner remarked.
Lt. Gen. Brawner said that the 6ID golf course has three functions: to help preserve the Camp Paulino Santos military reservation; to develop military morale and welfare facilities that are compliant with health protocols; and to help generate resources for the military.
