Disaster Response Units (DRU) from the 802nd Infantry Brigade (802Bde) continued their relief and rehabilitation operations in the typhoon-affected areas in Southern Leyte.
On January 7, 2022, the troop of the 802Bde facilitated the unloading of 2,500 relief packs from BDO Unibank and Diocese of Maasin for the residents of Macrohon, Southern Leyte affected by Typhoon Odette. On the same day, DRUs from the 14th Infantry Battalion provided security and manpower assistance during the distribution of galvanized iron sheets for the repair of houses in the municipalities of Sogod and Malitbog, Southern Leyte.
The troops also consistently assisted private stakeholders extending their help to the affected families who are hoping to rebuild their lives.
The Commanding General Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., in his previous statements, expressed his support to the troops in their operations in the frontlines, especially after the onslaught of the recent typhoon amid the pandemic.
