CGPA welcomes ICRC delegates

The Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. welcomed the visit of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegates on January 27, 2022, at Headquarters Philippine Army here in Fort Bonifacio.
Mr. Boris Michel, the Head of the Delegation of the ICRC, turned over 45,000 copies of Guidance of Law of Armed Conflict Pocket Cards for the troops in the frontlines. During the visit, the CGPA also emphasized the need for the Philippine Army to continue its training on adherence to the principles of International Humanitarian Law with ICRC’s assistance.
Lt. Gen. Brawner also expressed his intent to maintain the Command’s good relations with the ICRC, along with his support to the organization’s relevant endeavors.
“Over the years, the Philippine Army is your partner in promoting the adherence to International Humanitarian Law. Thus, we are more than willing to assist you in performing your functions that will involve our organization,” said the CGPA.
