Operating troops from Army's 6th Infantry Division (6ID) and Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) neutralized two Daulah Islamiyah (DI) terrorists in an encounter in Barangay Lapu, Polomolok, South Cotabato on January 31, 2022.
Troops identified the two neutralized terrorists as Zypol Nilong and Salahudin Usman who both belonged to the DI’s Maguid Group. Troops also recovered two M16 rifles at the encounter site.
Commanding General Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the troops of Army's 6ID, and the JTFC for neutralizing DI members, and protecting the community from any form of threat posed by terrorists. The CGPA has vowed to push down much-needed resources to further capacitate troops and Army units in thwarting planned terrorist attacks in communities.
