Combined elements of the 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion (2SRBn) and 8th Infantry Battalion (8IB) neutralized two CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs), and captured, two of their comrades in a clash at the hinterlands of Sitio Lamana, Barangay Kibalabag, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on January 29, 2022.
Army troops recovered the bodies of two slain CNTs identified as alias Draw member of Squad 1, Platoon Dario, Sub-Regional Committee 2, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC); and alias Paet, Communication Staff of the NCMRC. Troops captured two CNTs and seized three caliber .45 pistols, one 9mm pistol, five magazines, one cellphone, and medical supplies.
Troops also rescued seven civilians including, four minors who were threatened and extorted by CNTs.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the troops of 2SRBn and 8IB for their accomplishment, as he vowed to push down much-needed resources and support to Army units to capacitate them in their final push to attain a secured environment for the May 2022 polls.
