The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., graced the oath-taking of the Philippine Army Officers' Ladies Club Incorporated (PAOLCI) 2022 Board of Trustees and Officers on Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
“Tell us how we can help you help the Army. Tell us how we can help you help your husbands and their families,” the CGPA told PAOLCI's incoming board of trustees and officers in his speech. The CGPA also recognized the outgoing PAOLCI board of trustees and officers for leading the organization over the past year.
PAOLCI is an organization of Army officers’ spouses that aims to help enhance the general welfare of Army families through the implementation of projects in education, livelihood, and health. Mrs. Melody Marielle V. Brawner, spouse of the CGPA, serves as the PAOLCI adviser.
The CGPA explained as well his command guidance summarized in the “SERVE” acronym, emphasizing the “servant leadership” style that he is implementing as Army chief.
Lt. Gen. Brawner talked about the need to take care of the physical and mental health of "Soldiers,” the Army's most important resource. The Army leadership will "Enhance" the skills and capabilities of troops and units Lt. Gen. Brawner said, adding that the command will provide "Resources" to units to further capacitate them in mission accomplishment.
The CGPA explained that the three thrusts will enable the Army to emerge "Victorious" against threat groups, allowing troops to focus on ensuring orderly and peaceful "Elections" in May 2022.
