CGPA joins AFP, PNP, and PCG deal to secure 2022 polls

Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., joins military, police and coast guard generals to witness the signing of the Joint Letter Directive (JLD) No. 01-2022 which aims to ensure a safe and orderly conduct of May 2022 polls.
JLD No. 01-2022 was signed by AFP Chief of Staff General Andres C. Centino; PNP Chief P/Gen. Dionardo B. Carlos; and PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations Eduardo D. Fabricante during the 2nd COMELEC Command Conference led by COMELEC Acting Chairperson Commissioner Socorro B. Inting held on February 7, 2022 at Camp Crame in Quezon City. Lt. Gen. Brawner, together with AFP major services generals, PNP, PCG, and field commanders, attended the event through video teleconference.
Lt. Gen. Brawner has directed Army units to dismantle private armed groups as part of the Army's efforts to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of local and national polls in the Army-wide Command Conference last month.
“Let me remind you of our two solemn duties in the coming elections: vote and ensure peaceful and orderly elections. We will not tolerate partisan politics and military adventurism,” the CGPA told commanders and troops in his remarks.
The CGPA also reminded the troops to “avoid posting, liking, sharing, and commenting on posts that are politically motivated, controversial, and fraudulent.”
