Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., dons 2nd-star rank to newly promoted Maj. Gen. Wilbur C. Mamawag today, February 15, 2022, at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Lt. Gen. Brawner congratulated Maj. Gen. Mamawag for his promotion and recognized his effective leadership as the newly installed Commander of the Army's 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division.
Before his current position, Maj. Gen. Mamawag also displayed his military professionalism in his previous designations as Acting Commander of the Army's 8th Infantry Division (8ID) from October 2021 to December 2021. He also served as Assistant Division Commander of 8ID; Commander of the 603rd Infantry Brigade of the 6th Infantry Division; Chief of Staff of the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group; and Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence of the 2nd Infantry Division.
Lt. Gen. Brawner expressed his optimism that the ceremony will inspire the troops to excel in their mandated service.
“To Maj. Gen. Mamawag, may the stars you proudly bear manifest your faithful service to the Filipino people and our country. I am certain that through our collective efforts as One Team Army, we will continue to uphold the heritage of excellent military leadership,” said Lt. Gen. Brawner in his remarks.
