Malaysia’s defense attaché to the Philippines Col. Jafri Ahmad Zulayadi and assistant defense attaché LCDR Yuzzulaiza Bin Mohamad Yunus rendered an introductory call on Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., today, February 15, 2022, at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Lt. Gen. Brawner conveyed Philippine Army's commitment to sustain cooperation and collaboration with the Malaysian Army (MA), particularly on military education and training.
Meanwhile, Col. Jafri thanked Lt. Gen. Brawner for the warm welcome and affirmed his commitment to strengthening the PA-MA ties.
PA-MA ties go back in September 1994 when the Philippines and Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Defense Cooperation. The two countries consequently formed the Combined Committee on Defense Cooperation which led to the creation of the Malaysia-Philippine Military Cooperation Working Group and the Malaysia-Philippine Army Working Group.
