Army, DPWH eye establishment of Eastern Visayas reservist training center

The Chief of Staff, Philippine Army (CSPA) Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong and DPWH representative Brig. Gen. John Dominic Pulido (Ret.) discussed the establishment of an Eastern Visayas reservist training center during the latter's courtesy call at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on February 16, 2022.

The project will be coursed through the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS), a DND-DPWH convergence project on infrastructure, said retired Brig. Gen. Pulido. The DPWH representative also briefed CSPA and other key PA officers on the progress of ongoing TIKAS projects at various Army camps.

The TIKAS program reinforces the PA's base development thrust in line with its goal to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028.

Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group Commander Brig. Gen. Rosalio G. Pompa, Installation Management Command Deputy Commander Col. Cornelio T. Arboleda, Army Reserve Command and General Staff (G-Staff) officers attended the event.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., has stressed the importance of recruiting quality reservists that will complement Army troops in the conduct of humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts and other non-combat missions. #
