A 17-year-old member and a father-and-son duo of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Maute Group (DI-MG) surrendered and turned over high-powered firearms and ammunition to the Army’s 103rd Infantry Brigade (103 Bde) headquarters in Kampo Ranao, Marawi City on February 15, 2022.
The 17-year-old surrenderer identified as alias “Abu Turaypi” surrendered along with the father-and-son tandem of 58-year-old Ebra Apil alias and 29-year-old Munder Ebra Apil. They turned over an M16 rifle with one magazine and one Col.45.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 103 Bde troops for facilitating the surrender of the three DI-MG members in coordination with the local government of Piagapo, Lanao del Sur. The Army Chief vowed to bring down ample resources to sustain the brigade’s operational momentum and to bolster its mission effectiveness.
