The Philippine Army Table Tennis Team was hailed as the Overall Champion in the First Ever Invitational Table Tennis Tournament held from February 19 to 20, 2022 in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
For the Men’s Singles event, Cpl. Rodolfo Quijano Jr. and PFC Kenny Castro were named the Champion and 2nd Runner Up respectively while Pvt. Henezey Aragon nabbed the 1st Runner Up award in the Women’s Singles event. Cpl. Quijano and PFC Castro also won as the 1st Runner Up in the Men’s Doubles event and Mixed Doubles’ PFC Castro and Pvt. Aragon bagged the 2nd Runner Up award.
The Commanding General Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the Philippine Army Table Tennis Team for bringing pride outside the battleground. He also commended the Special Service Center of Installation Management Command for its support and opportunities given to soldier athletes for the advancement of their talents and skills for a mission accomplishment.
