7ID, Army Aviation Regiment, and 1BCT welcome USARPAC Commanding General

The Commanding General of the US Army Pacific (USARPAC) Gen. Charles A. Flynn visited on February 22, 2022 the home of the Philippine Army’s 7th Infantry Division (7ID), Aviation Regiment, and 1st Brigade Combat Team (1BCT) in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.
7ID Commander Maj. Gen. Andrew D. Costelo, Army Aviation Regiment Commander Col. Andre B. Santos, and 1BCT Deputy Commander Col. Jose Vladimir E. Cagara welcomed Gen. Flynn to their respective units.
Fort Magsaysay serves as the Philippine Army’s Combat Readiness Training Area in Luzon. The garrison is also often utilized as a venue for bilateral exercises between the Philippine and US armed forces.
It can be recalled that Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., welcomed yesterday Gen. Flynn to PA's main headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila. Gen. Flynn relayed USARPAC’s willingness to assist PA’s efforts in developing its Brigade Combat Team, Aviation Regiment, and training centers.
Gen. Flynn’s visit came as the PA and USARPAC prepare to hold the SALAKNIB on March 5 to 24, 2022 in various Central Luzon sites. SALAKNIB is a yearly combined bilateral training exercise that seeks to enhance defense readiness and interoperability between the two armies.
