Army reservists on February 23, 2022 continued rebuilding efforts in Dinagat Island more than two months after Typhoon “Odette” swept through large swathes of Visayas and Mindanao in mid-December 2021.
The 1503rd Community Defense Center of the 15th Regional Community Defense Group reservists together with reservists from Dinagat Island
cleared debris left by the typhoon’s onslaught and repaired typhoon-damaged school-buildings at Tag- abaca Central Elementary School in Basilisa, Dinagat Island.
Army troops and reservists — hand in hand with national government agencies, local government units, private sector partners — conducted humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts in calamity areas in the wake of the massive devastation left by Typhoon Odette, the strongest and most destructive tropical cyclone to hit the country in 2021.
