CGPA highlights Army accomplishments, thrusts in meet with press

The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., highlighted the Philippine Army’s accomplishments and thrusts in a media meet-and-greet event that kicked-off the month-long 125th PA Anniversary Celebration on March 2, 2022, in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
The CGPA’s meet-and-greet with the press is the first of the month-long series of events that highlight the PA 125th Anniversary Celebration anchored on the theme "Philippine Army @125: Kapayapaan Para Sa Lahat.” The planned activities will showcase the Army’s fulfilment of its mandate to serve the people and secure the land, capabilities upgrade and modernization efforts, and recognize the contributions of stakeholders in the attainment of the organization’s mission and vision.
The Army Chief appraised the local and foreign press about the Army’s accomplishments in line with his command guidance “SERVE” centered on servant leadership.
The CGPA discussed his three thrusts—ensure the physical and mental health of soldiers; enhance individual skills of soldiers and unit capabilities; and bring down resources to capacitate ground forces—that will ensure the Army’s victory against threat groups before the June 2022 deadline set by the Commander-in-Chief and Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte, to vote and ensure safe and orderly national and local polls on May 2022.
Lt. Gen Brawner thanked the media for being the Philippine Army’s partner in attaining sustainable and inclusive peace. "We value our partnership with our friends from the media. We recognize and appreciate your role as 'check and balance' to the government, including the military."
