Operating troops of the Army's 103rd Infantry Brigade (103Bde) of the 1st Infantry Division, neutralized eight Local Terrorist Group (LTG) members who are part of the combined forces of Dawlah Islamiyah (DI)-Maute Group under Abu Zacharia and DI-Hassan Group Maguindanao following an intense firefight in Barangay Ilalag, Maguing, Lanao Del Sur on March 1, 2022.
Captured war materiel include three 50 Caliber machine gun with tripod; one 30 Caliber Machine Gun with tripod; two M60 GPMG; twelve 5.56mm M16 Rifle; one M653 rifle; one M4; one 20-inch AR-15 Rifle; five 7.62mm M14 rifle; one 7.62mm M4 Rifle; six RPGs, two M203 GL; six Improvised 50 Caliber Sniper Rifles; one garand; one Bar; one AK47 cal.22 and one shotgun; assorted ammunition and war materiel; two ISIS flags; one laptop; communications equipment; five kilos of suspected shabu; and subversive documents with high intelligence value.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded 103Bde troops for the massive arms haul and neutralizing the eight LTG members. The Army Chief has vowed to push down ample resources to the brigade to bolster its campaign to eradicate LTG remnants and other lawless elements in its area of operations.#
